Is Doula Care Covered By Insurance?

Preparing for your baby's arrival can be exciting, but the added cost of care can feel overwhelming.

At Night and Day Doula, we believe in accessible care that doesn’t add stress to this deeply exciting time. In fact, our doula support and lactation services may be covered by your insurance!

So what does this mean?

For eligible families with Medi-Cal or Kaiser plans in California, you could received 11 covered doula visits including:

  • 9 standard visits (60-90 minutes)

  • and 2 extended visits (3 hours)

These visits can be used during pregnancy, postpartum, or as a combination of both, allowing you to tailor your support to your family's needs.

Our team manages the paperwork and confirms your eligibility so you can focus on what’s important, your family.

What If My Insurance Isn’t Eligible?

Not all insurance plans cover our care, but we still want to work with you. If we don't have a contract with your insurance company, we can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

We recommend that you contact your insurance provider to inquire about your individual benefits and their reimbursement requirements.

Do You Accept Fertility Benefits?

At Night and Day Doula, our care isn’t limited to traditional health insurance. We’re also happy to work with fertility benefit plans.
